John Doherty, Kerrykeel

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of John Doherty, Ranny, Kerrykeel, F92 P2C4.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, sons John and Paul, daughter Colette, daughter-in-law Noleen, son-in-law Eugene, eight grandchildren, brothers Thomas and Hugh, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, and his brother Brendan. Reposing at his home from 2pm on Saturday June 28.

Requiem Mass on Monday, June 30 at 11am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kerrykeel. Burial afterwards in Rathmullan Cemetery.

Family time from 10pm until 10am, and on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Donegal Hospice, c/o any family member.

John Gibson, Ballindrait

The death has taken place at his home of John Gibson, Sallywood, Killygordon, and formerly of Sandymills, Ballindrait and
brother of Andy (Carmel) and Jimmy (Marian).

Reposing at Quigley`s Funeral Home, Strabane on Saturday. June 28) from 7pm to 8pm. Funeral leaving the funeral home on Sunday, June 29 at 11.45am for funeral Mass in Patrick`s Church, Murlog, Lifford at 12.15 pm.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live via the parish webcam.

Brenda (Mary) Bonar, Drumkeen

The sudden death has occurred of Brenda (Mary) Bonar (née O’Loughlin), Callancor, Drumkeen, at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, surrounded by her loving family.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Eamon; daughter Coleen Moore (David); sons Conor, Mark, and Dylan; grandchildren Jamie, Sienna, and Callum; her father Danny; sister Lorraine; and brother Alan.

Predeceased by her mother Margo and brother Darren.

Deeply regretted by her extended family, neighbours, and friends.

May her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Her remains will repose at her late residence on Friday, June 27 from 2pm until 10pm, and again on Saturday, June 28 from 2pm until 10pm.

House private on the morning of the funeral. Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Requiem Mass will be held in St. Patrick’s Church, Drumkeen, on Sunday June 29th at 11am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice, care of any family member or Marley Funeral Directors.

Martina Connors, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Martina Connors, 3 Neil T Blaney Road, Letterkenny.

Martina passed away peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by husband Mickey, three sons and one daughter. Sorely missed by sons Danny, Michael, Austin, Tommy, Miley, Charlie, John and Jimmy, and daughters Pearl, Margaret, Nellie, Tina and Annie.

Fondly remembered by her sisters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, all extended family members and friends.

Martina's remains will be reposing in Eternal Light Chapel of rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, (F92 XE35) on Tuesday evening,  July 1 from 5pm to 8pm - all welcome.

Funeral Mass in St Eunan's Cathedral, Wednesday, July 2 at 11am, followed by interment in Leck Cemetery.

Daniel (Denny) Doherty, Clonmany

The death has taken place at his home of Daniel (Denny) Doherty, 19 Gaddyduff Clonmany F93 Y6F6 and formerly of Urrismanagh, Clonmany.

Funeral arrangements to be confirmed later.

Josie Conaghan, Letterkenny

The death has taken place peacefully at his late residence of Josie Conaghan, 13 Derryveagh Avenue, Letterkenny, F92 YK6X.

Predeceased by his loving wife Eileen in March 2021.

Josie will be sadly missed by his daughters Caroline, Elaine and Annette, sons Liam, Brendan, Trevor and Dale, grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing at his late residence. Family time only from 11pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral mass will take place at 12.00 noon on Saturday, June 28 in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, followed by burial afterwards in Leck Cemetery.

David Gailey Boal, Letterkenny

The death has taken place in Altnagelvin Hospital of David Gailey Boal, formerly of Coolboy, Letterkenny.

David will be resting at Terence McClintock’s funeral home at Ballyboe, Convoy, F93WF54 on Friday, June 27 from 4pm to 8pm, where all are welcome to call to pay your respects.

A Service of Thanksgiving for his life will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 3pm in Trinity Presbyterian Church, Main St, Letterkenny.
There will be an opportunity to meet his immediate family before the Church Service.

The committal will take place in Gortlee graveyard after the funeral Service. Family flowers only. David will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Patrick (Padraig Jackie) O’Donnell, Dungloe, Lettermacaward and Arranmore

The death has occurred at Donegal Hospice of Patrick (Padraig Jackie) O’Donnell of Pole Road, Meenmore, Dungloe and late of Lettermacaward and Plohogue, Arranmore, following a short illness.

Deeply missed by his beloved wife, Valerie and sister, Susan and all his extended family and friends. Predeceased by his dear brothers Eddie and Josie.

As it was Padraig’s wish for his remains to be donated to Galway University Hospital for medical research there will be no service or committal.

Brigid (Girlie) O’Mahony, Greencastle and Dublin

The peaceful death has taken place at her home, in her 90th year and surrounded by all her loving family, of Brigid (Girlie) O’Mahony (née Whelan), Carrowhugh, Greencastle, F93 K5N2 and formerly of 28 Mount Prospect Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin.

Predeceased by her husband Seán, her brothers Michael and John and her sister Phil.

Much loved mother of Grainne Kelly (Brian), Feargal (Deirdre) and Ronan (Tawny), and devoted granny of Ciara, Cormac, Aoibhín, Aoife, Meadbh, Tadhg, Audrey and Olivia.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sisters Mary, Anne and Marge, her brother Paddy, nieces and nephews, wider circle, friends and neighbours.

Brigid’s remains will repose at her home from 5pm on Thursday, June 26 where all are welcome to pay your respects from 5pm to 9pm and on Friday June 27 from 12pm-9pm.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning, June 28 at 10.30am for 11am Funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church, Ballybrack followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice C/O any family member or Eamonn McLaughlin Funeral Director.

James Burke, Buncrana

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of James Burke, Westbrook, Buncrana.

Son of the late James (Leo) and Ella Burke RIP. Brother of Eddie, Christina, Paul, and Rebecca. Sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, family circle and friends.

Remains reposing at McLaughlin’s funeral home, Lower Main Street, Buncrana, with viewing from 2 p.m until 6 p.m on Thursday, June 26 and 2pm until 6pm on Friday, June 27.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.30 am going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill, for 11am requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Michael O'Leary, Carndonagh

The death has occurred of Michael Joseph O'Leary originally from Carn Domhnach, Donegal and late of Drumcondra, Dublin.

He passed away at his home on June 20, 2025. Proud husband of the late Margaret and loving father of Rebecca and Andrew.

Sadly missed by his son-in-law Graham, daughter-in-law Michelle and grandchildren Natasha, James, Jacques and Hugo.

Funeral Mass on Monday morning, June 30th, at 10am at the Church of Our Lady of Victories, Ballymun Road, followed by a private cremation service.
