Eithne Garvey, Galway and Carrigans
The death has occurred of Eithne Garvey (née Hoban) Guilka, Skehana Co. Galway, formerly of Carrigans Co. Donegal and Claremorris Co. Mayo.
Eithne passe4d away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Mountbellew nursing home.
Predeceased by her husband Michael. Deeply mourned by her children Máire, Áine, Brian, Seán, Cathal and Liam; grandchildren Hugh, Orla, Finn, Darren, Niall, Aidan, Joseph, Rachel, David (deceased), Cian and Ciara, Son-in-law Nick, daughters-in-law Jasmin, Augusta, and Áine, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at St. Mary’s Church Skehana, Thursday, June 26 from 6pm to 7pm (Eircode. H53 VK40) with the requiem Mass in the same church on Friday, June 27 at 11am followed by the burial in Menlough Cemetery, Menlough.
James Burke, Buncrana
The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of James Burke, Westbrook, Buncrana.
Son of the late James (Leo) and Ella Burke RIP. Brother of Eddie, Christina, Paul, and Rebecca. Sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, family circle and friends.
Remains reposing at McLaughlin’s funeral home, Lower Main Street, Buncrana, with viewing from 2 p.m until 6 p.m on Thursday, June 26 and 2pm until 6pm on Friday, June 27.
Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.30 am going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill, for 11am requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
Maureen Shields, Carrigart
The death has taken place at her home of Maureen Shields, nee O Donnell (Uí Dhónaill), Gleneraugh, Glen, Carrigart, formerly of Rannafast, on Tuesday, June 24.
Predeceased by her husband, Denis and her siblings, Bríd, Dinny, Eileen, Hughdie and Paddy.
Forever loved and deeply missed by her sons John (Mary), Danny (Patricia), Michael (Lorraine) and Denis (DB) (Josephine) and daughter Alice (Michael), grandchildren, her sisters Róisin and Frances, twin brother Gonna, and extended family and friends.
Her remains are reposing at her home, Gleneraugh, Glen, Carrigart, F92 CK44, on Wednesday June 25 and Thursday, June 26. Rosary nightly at 9pm.
House private please each night after the rosary until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.
Funeral mass on Friday 27th June 2025 at 11am in St John the Baptist Church, Carrigart with internment in the cemetery adjoining St Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Annagry, F94 KO22. Funeral mass can be viewed on the Mevagh Parish Facebook page.
Olivia Doherty, Buncrana
The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Olivia Doherty (nee Breslin), Pillar Park, Buncrana.
Olivia will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loving son Kevin, daughters Susan and CJ, daughter-in-law Elaine, sister Joan, grandchildren, her wider family circle and friends.
Predeceased by her sisters Sheila, Mary, Madeline and Clare, and her brother Pat.
Her remains will be reposing at her home on Thursday, June 26 from 11am where you are all welcome to pay your respects.
Removal from there on Friday, June 27 at 10.15am to St.Mary’s Church, for Requiem Mass at 11.00am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.
Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/cockhill. Family time please from 11.00pm and before the funeral on Friday.

Michael O'Leary, Carndonagh
The death has occurred of Michael Joseph O'Leary originally from Carn Domhnach, Donegal and late of Drumcondra, Dublin.
He passed away at his home on June 20, 2025. Proud husband of the late Margaret and loving father of Rebecca and Andrew.
Sadly missed by his son-in-law Graham, daughter-in-law Michelle and grandchildren Natasha, James, Jacques and Hugo.

Patrick Mc Gettigan, Carrigart
The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Patrick Mc Gettigan (Atty), Glenree, Carrigart.
Patrick is deeply regretted by his brothers Eddie, Seamus, Denis, sister Ann, and his nieces and nephews.
Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest Mountain Top on Tuesday, June 24 at 3pm going to his late residence.
Funeral on Thursday going to the church of St John the Baptist for requiem Mass at 11am followed by internment in the adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice.
Neil Joe Ruddy, Culdaff
The peaceful death has taken place at Carndonagh Community Hospital of Neil Joe Ruddy, Dunross, Culdaff F93 XH51.
Predeceased by his parents Betty and Joseph Ruddy, his infant brothers, Michael Edward and John Joseph and his brother-in-law Leo McClenaghan.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sisters, Sr Margaret Ruddy, Sligo, and Mary-Jo McClenaghan, Dunross, Culdaff, extended family circle, friends and neighbours.
Neil’s remains will leave Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh F93 E4FN today (Tuesday) at 2pm going to his home.
Funeral from there on Thursday morning (June 26th) at 10.30am for 11am Funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bocan followed by Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.culdaffparish.com.
