Bríd Nic Giolla Bhríde,Dublin, Bun Beag and Anagaire

The death has occurred of Bríd Nic Giolla Bhríde, Whitethorn Park, Dublin and formerly of An Bun Beag and Anagaire. 

Bríd passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 in St Francis Hospice Raheny, after a short illness.

Deeply missed by her heartbroken sister, Freda, lifelong friend and cousin Rita, sister in law Anne, and all her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grandnephew. Also all her many friends, neighbours and teaching colleagues.

Reposing at Strand View, Anagaire (F94V8D7) on Friday 2nd. May from 5pm. Rosary and prayers 9.00 p.m.

Requiem Mass on Saturday, May 3 at St Mary’s Star of the Sea church, Anagaire at 1pm Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed live here.

Mary Small, Dublin and Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Mary Small (née Cassidy), Santry, Dublin and late of Ballyshannon.

She pased away peacefully at home, cared for and surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late John and dearly loved mother of Ger and the late Declan, adored Nana to John jnr, Catherine, Patrick, Caoimhe and Dearbhla and great- grandmother to Charlie.

Sadly missed by her family, daughter-in-law Andrea, son-in-law Ciaran, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Lanigan’s Funeral Home, 21 Beaumont Road on Friday, May 2 from 3pm to 5pm. Removal on Saturday morning to Our Lady of Victories Church, Ballymun Road for Funeral Mass at 11.30am and afterwards to Glasnevin Crematorium for cremation at 1.30pm

Chris Mac Clafferty, Carrigart

The death has taken place of Chris Mac Clafferty, Main Street, Carrigart.

His remains will repose at his late residence from 11am on Thursday May 1, where all are welcome to come and pay their respects to the family.

Funeral from there on Friday, May 2, going to the Church of St John The Baptist for Requiem Mass at 3pm, followed by internment in the adjoining cemetery.

PJ Wilhare, Cranford

The peaceful death has occurred at the Donegal Hospice of P J Wilhare, Woodquarter, Cranford.

Deeply regretted by his loving partner Madeline, Brothers, Sisters, nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Removal from his late residence to the church of St John the Baptist, Carrigart on Friday  May 2, arriving at 8pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Saturday morning May 3 at 11 am, followed by private cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

House is strictly private to family only please.

John McGinley (John Frank), Glencolmcille

The death has occurred of John McGinley (John Frank), Glencolmcille.

He passed away peacefully, in Harbour Lights Nursing Home. Pre-deceased by his parents, James and Ellen, and his brother Josie. Sadly missed by his beloved sister Brigid, cousins, neighbours and friends.

His remains will repose in McCabe's Funeral Home, Ardara (F94 VCK1) on Thursday, May 1 from 4pm to 6 pm. Removal to St Columba's Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Aneas McFadden, Milford

The sudden death has occurred of Aneas McFadden, 159 Mount Marian, Milford, F92X8C4.

Aneas is predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mary, and his brothers Patrick and Cahal.

Deeply regretted by his wife Margaret, son Terry (Carole) and daughters Geraldine (Stephen) and Catherine (Tommy), his grandchildren, Tamara, Katie, Kirsty, Jack, Shay, Kiera and Tommy, his brother John and sisters Brid and AnneMarie, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law.

Aneas’ remains will repose at his late residence on Thursday, May 1 and Friday, May 2 from 12 noon until after the rosary at 9 pm on both days.

His funeral Mass will take place in St Peter’s Church, Milford, on Saturday, May 3 at 11 am with burial afterwards in Milford cemetery.

Aidan Carrig, Stranorlar

The death has occurred unexpectedly of Aidan Carrig, Stranorlar, Co Donegal and Kilrush.

Deeply regretted by his sons Aidan and Roman, his father Jo Jo and step-mother Connie, his mother Adrienne, brothers and sisters Joanne, Carmel, John, Joseph, Martin, Rebecca, Emily, Shauna and Adrienne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and many friends. 

Reposing at 12 Glen Court, The Glen, Kilrush on Thursday, May 1. Funeral arriving at St Senan's Church, Kilrush on Friday morning for 11am Mass. Burial afterwards in All Saints Cemetery, Shanakyle. Mass can be viewed live on kilrushparish.com.

Ellen Keogh, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has occurred at St Eunan’s Nursing Home, Letterkenny, of Ellen Keogh, Gortlee, Letterkenny, surrounded by her loving family.

Remains will repose at Letterkenny Funeral Home, Port Road, Letterkenny on Wednesday 30th April and Thursday 1st of May, with public viewing between 7.30 pm and 10 pm on both evenings.

Requiem Mass on Friday, May 2 at 10.30 am in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, followed by cremation at Lakelands crematorium. Funeral Mass can be viewed on the Parish of Aughaninshin webcam.

Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, C/O any family member of Bradley/O’Doherty funeral directors. House private.

Benny Donaghey, Clonmany

The peaceful death has occurred at his home of Benny Donaghey, Magheramore, Clonmany, F93D8YY, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved Husband of Helen and much-loved father of Brendan (Lucy), Ian (Jeanne), Kevin (Màire), Nichola (Damian) sadly missed by his grandchildren Ruairi, Lorcan, Molly, Niamh, Orla,

Odhran, Oisín and Conall, deeply regretted by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and the wider family circle.

Reposing at the family home where all are welcome to pay respects.

Funeral from there on Friday at 10:20am going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please 11pm till 10am.

Patrick Joseph Brosnan, Quigley’s Point

The sudden death has taken place at his home of Patrick Joseph Brosnan, Meenavenaghan, Quigley’s Point.

Deeply saddened by Patrick’s passing is his loving wife, Aileen. Much-loved son of Mary Rose, and predeceased by his father, Brendan.

Deeply regretted by his nephew Jerred, his stepdaughter Laura, his extended family, friends and neighbours.
His remains will be reposing at his family home, Meenavenaghan, Quigley’s Point, F93T9N7 from 6pm this evening, Wednesday April 30, where all are welcome to pay their respects.

Removal from there on Friday at 10:30am to StColumba’s Church, Drung for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Requiem Mass can be viewed live on st-columbas-drung – MCN. Family flowers only please. Family time please from 9pm to 11am.
