Death notices for Donegal on Sunday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

- Manus Elliott, Doochary

- Kitty Sweeney, Donegal Town and Scotland

- Rosaleen Mogan, Mountcharles

- Seamus McBride, Milford

Manus Elliott, Doochary

The death has occurred of Manus Elliott, Doochary. He passed away peacefully, following a long illness borne with great strength and dignity, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful tender care of the staff of Áras Mhic Shuibhne.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary, his parents, Simon and Rosie and his brother, Paddy, Manus will be forever loved and greatly missed by his children Rosemarie, Annette and Simon, his grandchildren Enda, Paul, Maria, Cian, Eoin, Katie and Luke, his sons-in-law Oliver and Liam, daughter-in-law Mary, his brothers, Dinny, Connell, Huddie (Hughie) and Columba, his sisters, Mary, Sarah-Anne, Gracie and Teresa, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.

His remains are reposing at Mc Glynn's Funeral Home Dungloe on Sunday from 5pm until Rosary at 7 pm with removal afterwards to his home in Doochary to repose on Monday, from 1pm with Rosary at 8 pm. House strictly private until 1 pm.

Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday at 1 pm in St Conal's Church, Doochary followed by burial in the new cemetery.

Kitty Sweeney, Donegal Town and Scotland

The death has occurred of Catherine (Kitty) Sweeney, née Hone, Clydebank, Scotland, and formerly of Finadose, Donegal Town. She passed away on April 15, aged 92, at her home surrounded by all her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Peter, mother to Annemarie, John, Patricia, Kathleen, Brenda, Denise, Peter, and the late Andrew; sister to Eamon Hone. Much loved by everyone including her sons- and daughters-in law, grandchildren great-grandchildren friends and wider family.

The Rosary will be held in McColgan’s Funeral Directors Kilbowie Road Clydebank at 4.30pm on Monday. House private from Monday evening.

Funeral Mass will take place in St Eunan’s Chapel Clydebank on Tuesday at 9.30am, followed by burial after in Dalnotter Cemetery.

Rosaleen Mogan, Mountcharles

The death has taken place peacefully following a short illness at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Rosaleen Mogan, Lower Glencoagh, Mountcharles, Donegal, F94F62V.

Predeceased by her daughter Ann, husband Cyril, granddaughter Nicola, parents Mickey and Annie Keeney and her brother Joe (USA), Rosaleen is deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving sister Margaret Bonner and family (USA), her sons and daughters, 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren Cindy and Pat Gallagher, Patrick and Nicola, Jack Holly, Aoife, Grace and Saoirse, Kevin and Chantelle, Sean and Daniel; Cecil and Teresa, Austin, Amy and Bronagh, Aisling, Damien Conor and Killian, Stephen and Aliah, Siobhan and Gerard, Caoimhe, Peter and Archie, Ciara an Josh; Noelle and Patrick Mulhern, Bryan and Grace, Erin, Aidan and Ronan, Bridgeen, Ritchie, Alanna and Paddy; Mick and Geraldine, Natasha and Raymond, Ann Marie Ronan and Jayden, David; Peter and Siobhan, Peadar and Shauna, Oisin and Holly, Cian, James and Claire, Caitlin, Aoife an d Tara; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended Keeney, McLaughlin and Mogan families.

Reposal of her remains continues at her late residence (F94F62V) on Sunday from 2pm until 10pm. There will be a one-way system in operation at the wake - enter via Mountcharles Village (opposite the green pump) and exit at the Glen (Mountcharles/Donegal Road)

Removal from there on Monday for 11am funeral Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles, followed by removal to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3pm.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu if desired to the Stroke Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital, C/O Gallagher Funeral Directors, Mountcharles.

Patricia McKeegan, Antrim and Castlefin

The death has taken place of Patricia McKeegan, née Grieve, Tully Crescent, Cushendall, County Antrim and late of Laught, Castlefin, County Donegal. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional care of the medical staff of Causeway Hospital, Coleraine.

Predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend Frankie (January 2025), Patricia is deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving siblings, Teresa O’Reilly (Mullagh, Cavan), Ann Gorman (Kilmacrenan, Donegal), Genevieve McElwee (Kilmacrenan, Donegal), Martina Hamilton (Ballintogher, Sligo), Carmel Feeney (Kilargue, Leitrim), Marion Rogers (Carrigart, Donegal), Gerard (Tievebrack, Castlefin, Donegal), Deirdre McGinley (Carrigart, Donegal), and Jacqueline Ryan (Ballyclough, Limerick), her beloved nieces and nephews, brothers in law, sister in law, relatives, the McKeegan family, neighbours and many friends.

Her remains are reposing at her home 12 Tully Crescent, Cushendall BT 44 OSW on Sunday from 12 noon to 8pm. House private to family on Monday morning please.

Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 10am in St Mary's Church Cushendall, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Seamus McBride, Milford

The death has taken place suddenly in Glasgow of Seamus McBride, Moyle View, Milford.

Much loved son of Mary (Milford) and Eddie (Creeslough); loving father of David, Hannah and Rebecca and regretted by their mother Lucy. Sadly missed by his sister Kim and her husband Dermot, his niece Tamara and his nephew Eoghán. Forever in the thoughts of his partner Shannan and her daughter Kaylagh. Always loved by his aunts, cousins and wide circle of friends. Predeceased by his grandmother Peggy Rodgers (Milford), his grandparents James and Rosie Mc Bride (Creeslough) and his cousin Chris Toye (Milford).

His remains are reposing at the residence of his sister Kim and Dermot Ward, 21 Lough Fern Heights, Milford, F92 VOY5. Family time from 10pm until 10am and on the morning of the funeral.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am in St Peter’s Church, Milford. Burial will take place afterwards in Milford Cemetery. Mass can be viewed on Church Services TV St Peter’s Church Milford on https://www.churchservices.tv/milford
