Death notices for Donegal on Friday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

- Kitty Sweeney, Donegal Town and Scotland

- Johnny Diver, Letterkenny

- Nora Breslin, Glenties

Kitty Sweeney, Donegal Town and Scotland

The death has occurred of Catherine (Kitty) Sweeney, née Hone, Clydebank, Scotland, and formerly of Finadose, Donegal Town. She passed away on April 15, aged 92, at her home surrounded by all her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Peter, mother to Annemarie, John, Patricia, Kathleen, Brenda, Denise, Peter, and the late Andrew; sister to Eamon Hone. Much loved by everyone including her sons- and daughters-in law, grandchildren great-grandchildren friends and wider family.

The Rosary will be held in McColgan’s Funeral Directors Kilbowie Road Clydebank at 4.30pm on Monday, April 28. House private from Monday evening, April 28.

Funeral Mass will take place in St Eunan’s Chapel Clydebank on Tuesday, April 29 at 9.30am, followed by burial after in Dalnotter Cemetery.

Johnny Diver, Letterkenny

The death has occurred at his late residence, of Johnny Diver, College Farm Road, Letterkenny, F92 F671.

Predeceased by his parents, Anton and Mary and brother Cathal; deeply regretted by his family, wife Mary, sons Kieran (Trish), Cathal (Tracey), Terence (Tess), and Tony (Sarah), daughters Sabrina (David), Amanda (Eddie) and Karla, sisters Mary Ellen McNulty and Margaret McNulty (Letterkenny), Monica Durkin (Galway), Breid Harley and Maeve Sullivan (Letterkenny), Patricia Crampton (Westport), brothers Tony and Seamus, 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, in-laws and friends.

His remains are reposing at his late residence to repose, where you are most welcome to pay your respects. Rosary will take place at 9pm on both nights. Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there on Saturday going to St Eunan’s Cathedral for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed at www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations if wished to the Oncology Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital c/o Paschal Blake, Funeral Director, Stoney Arch, New Line Road, Letterkenny or any family member.

Nora Breslin, Glenties

The peaceful death has occurred of retired Principal of Kilkenny NS, Nora Breslin, née Quinn, Buncrubog, Glenties, Donegal, F94PY54.

Nora will be sadly missed and forever loved by her daughter Annette. She is deeply regretted by her nephew Fr Denis Quinn, her nieces Mary, Annie and Evelyn Quinn, her grandnephew, grandnieces, cousins, neighbours and friends. Nora is predeceased by her husband Jim and her parents, James and Annie Quinn.

Reposal of Nora’s remains continues at her home in Buncrubog, Glenties, F94 PY54 on Thursday from 12 noon to 11pm, with Rosary both nights at 9pm. House private on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 1pm in St Connell’s Church, Glenties with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
