Maureen Quinn, Raphoe

The death has taejn place in Archview Lodge Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family of Maureen Quinn nee Connolly, Townparks, Raphoe, F93 HD96.

Lovingly missed by her daughters and sons Assumpta (Liam), Anne (John), Thomas (Mary), sister Marjorie, Terence (Tina), Bríd (Gavin), Donna (Patrick), Martin (Marilda), her grandchildren Christopher,Thomas, Emer, Aíne, Shauna, Fearghal, Megan, Melissa, Michael, Rachael, Pádraig,and Jordan, Adam and their mum Jill and great- grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah nd Teidí, her brother and sister Tony and Alacque, her nieces and nephews and all her extended family and friends.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents Anton and Mary Bridget, husband Tommy, brother and sister Barry and Marjorie, granddaughter Bridget Marian, maythey all rest in peace.

Reposing at her late residence on Monday, February 17 from 12pm to 9pm and on Tuesday, February18 from 12pm to 9pm.

Rosary on both evenings at 9pm. Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral cortege will be leaving her late residence on Wednesday at 11.20am going to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe for 12 noon Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Victor Beattie, Raphoe

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Victor Beattie, Burnside, Raphoe.

Beloved husband of Iris, much loved father of daughter Melanie (Michael) and son Jason, step-sons Rodney (Lorna), Ivor (Louise), Giles (Teresa), step-daughter Hilary (Timmy).

Victor will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, his sister Anna (Edwin) Black and his extended family circle.

His remains are reposing at his late residence. House strictly private please at the request of the deceased.

Funeral prayers at his home on Tuesday, February 18 for family only please.

Leaving from there at 2pm going to St Eunan’s Cathedral graveyard for prayers and burial. Everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects at the committal.

Lucy McCafferty, Stranorlar

The death has occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Lucy McCafferty, 46 Admiran Park, Stranorlar F93 V6K0, and formerly of Main Street, Stranorlar.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her loving partner Sam Armstrong, her daughter Amanda (Mark), her son Kevin (Megan), cherished sister of Judy, Margaret (Philip), Patrick, Karl, Nora (Sam), Liz (Eamon), nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Sheila and her brothers Dermot and John.

Remains reposing at her late residence on Monday, February 17 and Tuesday, February 18 from 11am to 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, February 19 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.

Interment in Stranorlar cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam.

Connie McGlynn, Cloghan

The death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, of Connie McGlynn (Rodgie), The Rambler’s Inn, Brockagh, Cloghan F93HR61.

Survived by his loving wife Brigid sister Nora Gallagher, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He is predeceased by his sister Nancy, brothers, Paddy, Mickey and John. Reposing at his home in Brockagh from 6pm on Sunday, February 16.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 18 in The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin with burial afterwards in Cill Mhuire Cemetery. The funeral Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam.

Rosary nightly at 8pm with family time from after the Rosary until 11am and on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only please.

Marie O’Dowd, Bunbeg

The peaceful death has taken place at her home of Marie O’Dowd (née Gordon), Bunbeg, Gweedore, originally of 102 Tracey Avenue, Sligo Town.

Her remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg on Monday, February 17 from 2pm to 8pm. Rosary at 8pm.

Removal from there afterwards to her late residence to repose overnight. House is strictly private to family only.

Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, February 18 at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Derrybeg, interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Very Rev Dean Austin Laverty, Ardara

The sudden death has taken place of the Very Rev Dean Austin Laverty, former parish priest of Ardara.

Beloved brother of Eunan and sadly missed by sister-in-law Teresa, nieces Thérèse & Roisin, grand nephews, grand niece and great grand nephew, his devoted housekeeper Josephine, his PP Very Rev Aodhán Cannon and fellow clergy of the diocese of Raphoe, parishioners and friends.

Reposing at the Church of The Holy Family until rosary at 8pm on Sunday and on Monday, February 17 from 11am until Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 18 at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Hugh Walsh, Stranorlar

The death has occurred at his late residence of Hugh Walsh, 4 Chapel Street, Stranorlar.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret, who died on February 8 2025, much loved father to Kathleen (Iggy), Angela (Wayne), Bridgeen, dearly loved brother of Eileen, and the late Jim, Johnny, Emily, Margaret and Mary. Reposing at Mc Cools Chapel of Rest, Ballybofey on Sunday, February 16 and Monday, February 17 from 6pm to 9pm. Funeral leaving from there on Tuesday, February 18 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment in Stranorlar cemetery. Nigel Lloyd, Dunkineely

The death has occurred of Nigel Lloyd, Casheltown, Dunkineely, Co Donegal, F94 X625, and Oadby, Leicester, England.

He passed away peacefully at the North West Hospice, Sligo on February 14.

Nigel will be sadly missed by his broken-hearted partner Kim Pereira, parents Angela and Roy Lloyd, sister Lindsay, brother John, extended family, neighbours and his many friends in Ireland and UK.

Gerry McLaughlin, Malin

The sudden death has taken place at his home of Gerry McLaughlin (Shanee), Camata, Culkeeny, Malin.

Sadly missed by his father, Jimmy, beloved husband of Margaret and much-loved father of Amie, deeply regretted by Amie’s partner, Gavin.

Loving grandfather of Emma and Megan, deeply regretted by his sisters, extended family, friends and neighbours.

There is no wake at the request of the deceased. A service of celebration of Gerry’s life will take place on Monday, February 17 at 4:30pm at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, followed by cremation.

Blake Joseph Marston, Convoy

The sudden passing of Blake Joseph Marston, 26 Beechwood Park, Convoy (F93PT66).

Much-loved son of Anne Corcoran and brother of Tarrah Sharma. He will be sadly missed by his aunts Catriona, Josephine and Jane also his uncle John, cousins and the wider family circle.

His remains will repose at his home from 5pm to 10pm pn Saturday, February 15 and from 12 noon to 10pm on Sunday,  February 16 . Rosary each night at 9pm.

Funeral leaving from his home on Monday February 17 at 11.30am going to St Mary’s Church Convoy for 12noon Requiem Mass followed by burial in the new graveyard.

John (Johnny) Gallagher, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of John (Johnny) Gallagher, Higginstown, Ballyshannon, F94HP97.

He passed away peacefully in his residence surrounded by his caring family. Pre-deceased by his mother Elizabeth, father Joseph, sisters Moira and Patsy, granddaughter Shannon and grandson Cormac.

Beloved husband of Anna, devoted father to Gerard, Paul, Siobhán and Sinéad. Adoring grandfather of Sorcha, Patrick, Eoin, Shannon, Conor, Alana, Dermot, Evelyn, Aoife, Cormac, Dáire, Dearbhaile, Meara, Orlaith, John Raymond and Donnacha. Great grandfather of Rowan. Deeply regretted by his daughter-in-law Olivia, son-in-law Aaron, his sisters Teresa and Margaret, nieces and nephews.

Reposing at his late residence on Saturday, February 15 from 3pm to 7pm and on Sunday from 2pm to 8pm.

Funeral to arrive at St Joseph’s Church, The Rock, Ballyshannon on Monday for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon with services of cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin road, Cavan on Tuesday at 1pm. All enquires can be made to Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon on 087 2485819.

Tracy Byrne, Glencolmcille and Dublin

The death has occurred of Tracy Byrne, Cashel, Glencolmcille and Clonee, Dublin.

She passed away on February 14 peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown.

Will be sadly missed by her husband Phil Noble, her mother Maire, sister Claire (Georgi), brother Terence, nephew and godson Oisín (Siobhán), parents in law Damo and Marie, sister in laws Lorraine (Jim), Leanne (Darren) and brother-in-law Keith (Sarah), niece Brooke, nephews Ethan, Aaron, Nathan, Oisín, Harry and Bobby, her extended family and friends. Predeceased by her father Michael (Mickey Christy).

Reposing at St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown, Saturday, February 15 from 4pm to 6pm.

Removal from St Francis Hospice, Sunday, February 16 at 12 noon for arrival at her family home in Glencolmcille for 5pm.

Funeral Mass on Monday, February 17 at 11am in St Columbas Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille followed by private cremation service in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Charles McDaid, Culdaff

The death has taken place at Carndonagh Community Hospital of Charles McDaid (Neshie Ned), Millhouse, Templemoyle, Culdaff. 

Predeceased by his son Mark, sister Rosemarion and brother Patrick, brothers-in-law Michael Dinney and James Douglas.

Beloved husband of Bernie and much-loved father of Adrian, Aislinn (Steven), Gary, Catriona (Joey) and Declan (Michelle).

A devoted and cherished grandfather to his 19 grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Katie, sisters Maureen and Breege, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Neshie’s remains are now reposing at his home, where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Monday, February 17 at 9.30am for 10am Funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay followed by Interment in Lagg Cemetery. Family time from 10pm to 11am.
