The following deaths have taken place:

Deirdre McDaid, Buncrana

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Deirdre McDaid (nee Callaghan), Meenagorey, Buncrana.

She will be reposing at her brother Kevin Callaghan’s house, Clonglash, Buncrana, F93XP80, from 11am on Monday, September 30. House private from 10pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Leaving there on Wednesday the 2nd of October at 10am for 11am funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church, Cockhill. 

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to iCare, iAdult and Sonas.

Eileen Greene, Loughanure

The death has occurred of Eileen Greene (née Sweeney), Loch an Iúir, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 28.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Hudaí Greene and sadly missed by her children Roma (Shaun), Francis (Linda), Lochlán (Helena), Hugo (Mary Ellen) and John Joe (Michelle), her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, the extended family and friends.

Her remains will repose at McGlynns Funeral Home Dungloe on Sunday, September 29 from 4pm, Rosary at 8pm followed by removal to her daughter's home in Loughanure (F94 Y566).

Her funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 11am in St Mary's followed by internment in the old cemetery at St Mary’s Star of the Sea, Annagry (F94 K022).

House private after Rosary until 11am, and on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only, donations to Alzheimer Society of Ireland and Donegal Hodpice. Mass can be viewed live here.

Nora Doherty, Muff and formerly Fanad

The death has occurred at Buncrana Community Hospital of Nora Doherty (nee Blaney), Sappagh, Muff F93D2XO and formerly Fanad.

Beloved wife of Andy and much-loved mother of Mary Cunnell.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her loving husband, daughter, nieces, nephews, her extended family and friends.

Nora’s remains will be reposing at her home on Monday, September 30 from 3pm where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Removal on Tuesday, October 1 at 10.15am to St Patrick’s Church, Iskaheen for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Requiem Mass can be viewed live here. Family time please from 10.00pm to 10.00am.

Rose Kelly, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at her home of Rose Kelly, 27 Blackrock Drive, Ballybofey, F93 PR9V, and formerly Cappry, Ballybofey.

She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Michael, much loved mother of Marie (Tony), Ann, Monica (David), Sophie (Liam), Charlie, John, Michael, and Eugene, cherished sister of May. Predeceased by her parents Charlie and Annie, sister Bridie, brothers John, Hugh, and daughter in law Sonia. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her, sons, daughters, sister, brother in law Patrick, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and very many friends.

Remains reposing at her late residence on Sunday, September 29 from 6pm Funeral leaving her residence on Tuesday, October 1 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.Interment in Drumboe cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, directly to the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny or care of any family member.

Maureen Brogan, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Maureen Brogan (née O’Donnell), College Farm Road, Letterkenny, (F92 EH3E). Sahe passed away on September 28 peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Beloved wife of the late Seamus and sister of the late Kathleen Travers (Lucan) and Anne McFeely (Coventry). Deeply regretted by her nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her late residence on Sunday, September 29 from 4pm, concluding with the Rosary at 9pm. Family time please on the morning of the funeral. Removal from her residence on Monday, September 30 to St Eunan’s Cathedral for 11 am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live here, followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Dessie Lafferty, Killygordon

The death has occurred of Dessie Lafferty 481, The Curragh, Killygordon, Donegal, F93 T3K7, peacefully at Donegal Hospice, after a short illness.

Husband of Kathleen, father of Serena (Sean), Siobhan (Malcolm), Brian, Lorraine and the late Darren (Mary), brother of Bridie and Kieran.

Dessie will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchild, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his late residence on Sunday, September 29from 11am. Family time please from 11pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeralFuneral from his late residence on Tuesday, October 1 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass at 11 am in St Patrick's Church, Crossroads, Killygordon.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. The Mass can be viewed via the parish webcam.

Dr John (Sean) Mc Bride, Downings and Kerry

The peaceful death has taken place at Aras Ui Dhomhnall, Milford of Dr John (Sean) Mc Bride, An Riocht, Downings, Co. Donegal and formerly of Tralee, Co. Kerry.

His remains are reposing at his late residence. Funeral from there on Monday going to the Church of St John the Baptist Carrigart for requiem Mass at 11.00 am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Sean will be sadly missed by his extended family and many friends. The funeral Mass can be viewed live on Mevagh Parish Facebook page.

Oliver Norris, Mayo and Lifford

The death has occurred of Oliver Norris, Cogaula, Westport, Mayo,  Lifford and formerly of Boher, Streamstown, Co. Westmeath.
He passed away peacefully at The Mayo Hospice on September 28. Ex-Irish Army, Lifford, Co Donegal and FCA Westport, Co. Mayo.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Breige (née Gibbons formerly of Ballintra, CoDonegal), brothers Frank, Finian & Edward, sisters Patricia, Josephine & Anne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncle, aunts, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at St Aidan's Room, Islandeady (F23 HF62) on Monday, September 30 from 6pm with removal to St Patrick's Church, Islandeady at 7pm for requiem Mass at 7:15pm.

Removal on Tuesday at 9am to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for Cremation Service at 12 noon. No flowers by request. Donations if desired to The Mayo Hospice or c/o of McGings Funeral Directors.

Sheelagh O'Connor, Culdaff and Limerick 

The death has occurred of Sheelagh O'Connor (née Griffin), Castleconnell, Co Limerick, formerly of Culdaff, Co Donegal.

She passed away peacefully in the tender care of Milford Hospice on September 27.

Predeceased by her loving husband Pat. Much loved mother of Fiona, Patrick, Sean, Tony, Seamus, Roisin and Alan, daughters in-law Joan, Penny and Pauline, sons in-law Richard and Jim, grandchildren Rory, Padraig, Art, Eoghan, Enda, Donal, Grace (deceased), Ella, Anna and Jamie, granddaughters in-law Brooke and Aoife, great-grandchildren Saskia and Sage, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at home, Tontines, Castleconnell, V94 PXR3, on Tuesday, October 1 from 2pm.

Funeral leaving her home on October 2 for 11:30am Funeral Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Castleconnell, which can be viewed on www.castleconnellparish.ie followed by cremation at Shannon Crematorium at 2pm. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Milford Hospice.

Kathleen O'Toole, Milford

The peaceful death has taken place at The Donegal Hospice of Kathleen O'Toole, (nee McGinley, Ballymichael, Fanad), Cooper's Road, Drumbern, Milford.

Sadly missed by her daughters Caroline, Deirdre and Aisling, her sons John, Joe, James & Michael, sons in law, daughters in law, her Grandchildren, brothers, sisters, family and friends.

Reposing at the family home from 2pm to 9pm on Sunday, September 29.

Removal from there on Monday for 12 noon Requiem Mass in St Peters Church, Milford, followed by private Cremation.

House private on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers to the Donegal Hospice c/o Mc Elwee Funeral Director, Milford or any family member.

Patricia Brennan, Donegal Town and Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Patricia Brennan (née Harvey) 426 O’Duignan Avenue, Donegal Town, Donegal and formerly of Cluain Barron, Ballyshannon. She passed away peacefully on September 27 in Sligo Hospice.

Mother to Lorraine (Bobby), Gary and Ronan (Katrina). She will be missed by her grandchildren Kerri, Robbie, Megan, Alanna and Conleth.

She will be sadly missed by her siblings, Eamon and Colm, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by her brother Jimmy and sister Kathleen.

Remains will be reposing at Gallagher's Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles, (Eircode F94 X02N) on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29 from 4pm until 7pm.

Funeral Mass in St Agatha's Church, Clar, on Monday, September 30 at 11am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Kathleen Breslin, Buncrana and London

The death has taken place in London of Kathleen Breslin, Palmers Green, London and formerly of Buncrana.

Funeral arrangements to be confirmed later.
