Death notices for Donegal on Saturday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

- Elizabeth Patton, Ballybofey

Patricia Devine, Lifford and Tyrone

The death has taken place peacefully, but suddenly, at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Patricia Devine, formerly of 95, Innisfree Gardens, Strabane and late of 6 Bridge View, Lifford.

Much loved mother of Shaun (Denise), Rebecca (Gareth) and Patrick (Mary), loving granny of Erin, Thomas, Aíne, Alfie, Charlie, Emir and Kai, dearest sister of Maryann, Cathy, Tommy, Michael, Gerry and the late Seamus, Brian, Andy and Frankie, cherished daughter of the late John and Rebecca.

Cremation will take place at a later date.

Duncan Doherty, Letterkenny

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Duncan Doherty, 85 Ard O’Donnell, Letterkenny.

Deeply missed by his brother Jim (England), niece Philomena Gildea (Correnagh, Letterkenny), nephews Ciaran Doherty (Lisnennan, Letterkenny), Michael Doherty (England) and Lee Doherty (England), grand nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Duncan is predeceased by his parents Duncan and Madgeina and his brother Liam.

Duncan’s remains will repose at The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny F92 XE35 on Sunday from 5pm until 7pm.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny which can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny. Interment will take place afterwards in New Leck Cemetery.

Mary McGonagle, Buncrana

The sudden death has occurred at Letterkenny University of Mary McGonagle, née Doherty, Rockytown, Buncrana.

Beloved wife of John, much loved mother of Caoife and James; much loved sister of Annette McDaid, Elaine Doherty and Kevin Doherty. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her husband, daughter, son, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews her extended family, friends and neighbours.

Her remains are reposing at her home.

Removal on Monday at 10.15am to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mary’s Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/cockhill

Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to Diabetes Research Ireland c/o any family member or Shaun Murphy Funeral Director.

Aidan Mc Glynn, Donegal Town and Letterkenny

The death has occurred peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital of Aidan Mc Glynn, Ardnawark, Barnesmore, Donegal Town and formerly of Rockhill, Letterkenny. 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Kathy (née McHugh), his parents Peter and Bernadette, sister Shauna, brothers Gareth and Brendan (Pam), nieces Eimear, Leah, Lauren and Molly, aunts, uncles, cousins, his parents-in-law, Helen and Willie Joe, brothers-in-law, Gary and Stephen, and all the extended family.

His remains are reposing at his late residence, F94 HH92, on Saturday from 1pm until 8pm. There will be a shuttle bus service in operation at the wake from the car park at Biddys O Barnes. House private on the morning of the funeral please. 

Removal from there on Sunday morning going to St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 12 noon Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in Conwal Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu if so desired to Irish Motor Neuron Disease association. 

Charles Stephen Watson, Convoy

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Charles Stephen Watson, Milltown, Convoy.

Lovingly missed by his brothers Willie and Alex, his sister Ruth and all his extended family and friends.

Stephen's remains will be reposing at Kelly's Funeral Home, Oakfield, Raphoe, F93 KP0N, on Saturday from 4pm to 8pm.

A Service of Thanksgiving will take place on Sunday afternoon at 2.30pm in Kelly’s Funeral Home, Oakfield, Raphoe with burial afterwards in the family plot, St Ninian’s Parish Church Graveyard, Convoy.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu if desired to The Donegal Hospice c/o any family member or Kelly's Funeral Directors, Oakfield, Raphoe.

Elizabeth Patton, Ballybofey

The death has occured at Brindley Nursing Home, Convoy, at the age of 98, of retired teacher, Elizabeth Patton, formerly Corlecky and Glenfin Road, Ballybofey. 

Beloved daughter of the late Tom and Mary, devoted sister of the late Lettie, Ruby, Mary, and Sadie, cherished aunt of Audrey, Doreen and Carol. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her nieces, extended family, and friends.

Funeral Service of Thanksgiving in Stranorlar Parish Church, on Saturday at 2pm for family and close friends only please. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

John Martin, Buncrana

The peaceful death has taken place surrounded by his loving family of John Martin, Keelogs, Ahilly, Buncrana, F93 AC89

Beloved husband of Kathleen and dear father of James (Janet), Marie, Elaine, Kathleen, Claire, Sadie and Jonathan. Loving grandfather of Jonathan, Logan, Michael, Amy, Matthew, Ciara, Alan, Laura and Gemma. Son of the late Mary Ann and James Martin. Sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren family circle and friends.

His remains are reposing at his residence. One way system in operation. House private from 11 pm on Friday. 

Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.15am going to St Mary's Church Cockhill for 11am Requiem <ass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral mass can be viewed online at churchservices.tv/cockhill
