Death notices for Donegal on Friday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

Terence Campbell, Ramelton

The death has occurred peacefully at his home of Terence Campbell, The Glen, Ramelton, F92 PD89. 

Deeply regretted by his loving family Monica, Anne, Irene, Gerry, Anthony, Angela and Enda, sons-in-law Louis, Paddy, Neil and Brendan, daughters-in-law Evelyn, Margaret and Katrina, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his wife Grace, son John, sister Maureen and brothers John and Gerald.

His remains are reposing at his home from 6pm on Friday. Family time from 10pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 2pm in St Peter’s Church, Milford. Burial will take place afterwards in Tully Cemetery. Funeral mass can be viewed on Church Services TV St Peter’s Church Milford on the following link: https://www.churchservices.tv/milford

Mary Doherty, Malin Head

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mary Doherty, née McGilloway, Slievebawn, Malin Head.

Sadly missed by her ten children; deeply regretted by her sisters, brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, extended family, friends and neighbours. 

Her remains will repose at her home from Friday evening. House strictly private please at the request of the deceased.

Removal on Monday at 10.20am to Lagg Chapel for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the ISPCA.

Maire Kelly, Glasgow and Coolvoy

The peaceful death of Maire Kelly (nee McKelvey), (Lougherrig and Coolvoy) has taken place on Friday 16th of February at her home in Toryglen, Glasgow.

Wife of the late Packie Kelly of Drimaneaney, Fintown. Sorely missed by her daughter Mary, son John, sister Kathleen and her extended family, many friends and neighbours.

Funeral arrangements to follow.

Hugo Toner, Convoy

The death has taken place, at the Donegal Hospice, of Hugo Toner, Miltown, Convoy (F93PW7Y).

Sadly missed by his children Jason and Elaine, partner Una, grandchildren Kyle, Devin, Carli and Luka. Deeply regretted by his sisters Philomena Sweeney and Rosemary Scott and brothers James and Eamonn, wider family circle and friends. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Kath, sister Patsy and brother Patrick.

His remains will repose at his home from 5pm Friday. Family time please from 9pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral. 

Removal from there on Sunday at 12.15pm for 12.30pm Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Convoy, followed by burial in the family plot in the old cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations, in lieu, to the Alzheimer's Association, care of any family member or Terence McClintock funeral director.

Maureen Devine, Lifford and Tyrone

The death has occurred of Maureen (Mo) Devine, née Doherty, 26, Magirr Park, Strabane, Tyrone and formerly of Coolatee, Lifford.

Much loved mother of Anthony (Nicola), Sean (Geraldine), David (Stacey) and Fiona (Peter), loving nana of Anton, Caithlín, Éile, Rónán, Shéa, Peadar, Senan, Saoirse, Sorcha, Calvin and Tony, dearest sister of Sadie, Christina, Pauline, Carmel, Geraldine, Margaret, Laurence, Liam and the late Bridie, John, Hugh-James and Rose, cherished daughter of the late Daniel and Nellie.

Her remains are reposing at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Fiona and Peter Mc Gettigan, 3, Drumrallagh Estate, Strabane BT82 8JW from 5pm on Friday.

Funeral from there on Sunday at 9.15am for Requiem Mass at 10am in The Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Strabane. Interment will take place afterwards in Strabane Cemetery. The Mass can be viewed via the parish webcam.

Maighréad Uí Dochartaigh, Derrybeg

The peaceful passing has occurred of Maighréad Uí Dochartaigh (Charlie) of Stranacorkra, Derrybeg, Gweedore.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Charlie and son Columba. Maighréad will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her sons and daughters Anne, Margaret, Maureen, Carmel, Charles, Sean, Peter, Angela, Michael, Owen and Nora, all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her neighbours and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her daughter Margaret's home in Falcarragh (F92 XV02). The family kindly requests privacy from 10pm to 10am on Friday and Saturday as well as on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday at 1pm in St Mary's Church, Derrybeg F92 H289 (Teach Pobail Mhuire) with burial afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery in Gweedore.

Sandy Michie, London and Glenfin

The death has taken place in London of Sandy Michie.

Husband of Colm Gallagher, Letterbrick, Glenfin.

Celebration of life Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin at 3pm on  Saturday with interment afterwards in Cill Mhuire Cemetery.

David Lavery, Burnfoot

The death has occurred at Altnagelvin Hospital of David Lavery, Dundrain, Burnfoot.

Beloved husband of Marie, much loved father of Sarah, Con, Charlie and Jack and dear brother of Anne, Fiona, Bridget, Georgia, Rosaleen, Dennis, Johnny and Paul. He is predeceased by his parents Con and Mary, Buncrana and his brother Con. Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his loving wife, daughter, sons, sisters, brothers, extended family and friends.

David’s remains are reposing at his home. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am and on the morning of the funeral.

Removal from there on Saturday at 10.15am to St Aengus’ Church, Burt for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery. Requiem Mass can be viewed here. Family flowers only please.

Maureen O’Brien, Meenreagh and Rathmullan

The peaceful death has occurred of Maureen (Maisie) O’Brien (née Mortimer), Meenreagh and formerly Glenalla, Rathmullan, Donegal. Dearly loved wife of Patrick.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, son, daughters, relatives and friends.

Her remains will be received into St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan on Sunday at 6pm to repose until Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am followed by interment in the adjacent cemetery.

Bernadette Porter, Crossroads

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Bernadette (Bernie) Porter, nee Ewing, 478 The Curragh, Crossroads, Killygordon (F93 E1V3).

Beloved wife of the late Hugo, and much loved mother of John, Michelle, Linda, Stephen, David, and Derek. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence.

Funeral leaving from her late residence on Saturday at 10.30 am for Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church Crossroads, Killygordon at 11am. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Family time from 10pm until 11 am, and on the morning of the funeral.
