The following deaths have taken place:

Patrick J Gillespie, Glencolmcille and London

The death has occurred of Patrick J Gillespie, Kentish Town, London, formerly of Kinnakillew, Glencolmcille. Predeceased by his parents John and Teresa and brother Peter. Sadly missed by all the family.

Funeral Mass on Monday, February 12 at St Columba's Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille at 12 noon followed by ashes interment in the adjoining cemetery.The funeral Mass can be viewed here.

Isabell Theresa McDaid, Greencastle

The death has taken place at her home of Isabell Theresa Mc Daid, nee Green, Moneygran, Lower Drumaweir, Greencastle, F93 E797.

Remains reposing at her home. Family time please from 11pm to 11am

Funeral Mass for Isabell will take place on Saturday, February 10 at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Ballybrack, Moville followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard Family flowers only donations in lieu to the Foyle Hospice, Culmore Road, Derry c/o any family member

Josie McCarron, Fanad

The death has occurred [eacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital of Josie Mc Carron, Murrin, Fanad.

Predeceased by his brothers Eddie (Murrin) and John (Corry) and sisters Peggy Clay (Manorcunningham) and Nelly Sweeney (Doaghbeg). Deeply regretted by his brothers Dan (Dumfries) and Charlie (Murrin). Sadly missed by his extended family and many many friends.

Josie's remains will repose at his brother Charlie's house in Murrin (F92F9C5) on Friday from 1pm.

Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday at 11am in St. Columba's Church, Massmount with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland c/o any family member or Mc Ateer Funeral Directors.

Mary P Rooney, Rossnakill and Leitrim

The death has taken place of Mary P Rooney, resident at Áras Uí Dhomhnaill, Milford and formerly of Carnoona, Glenade, Co Leitrim, Queens, New York, USA and Rossnakill, Fanad. She died peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband Pat, she is deeply regretted by all her family, neighbours and many many friends.

Mary's remains will arrive at St Columba's Church, Massmount, Fanad at 4pm, on Sunday to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass will be held on Monday at 10am with burial afterwards in Mullies Cemetery, Mullies, Co Leitrim.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Patients Comfort Fund at Áras Uí Dhomhnaill c/o any family member or Mc Ateer Funeral Director.

Christina Young, Annagry

The death has taken place in Glasgow of Christina Young, née Duffy, daughter of the late Roseanne Duffy, Ardcrone, Annagry.

Predeceased by her mother Roseanne and sister Mary. Sadly missed by her loving husband James, son Kevin, sisters Roseanne and Josephine and extended family and friends.

Her remains will be received into St Mary's Star of the Sea Church, Annagry on Friday evening at 5.30pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 11am, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed on the Annagry Parish Facebook page.

Lt Col Charles Cunningham, Dublin and Carrick

The death has occurred of Lt Col Charles (Charlie) Cunningham, Templeville Rd., Templeogue, Dublin 6W and formerly of Aughera, Carrick. He died peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff of St Vincent’s Hospital following the excellent care received in Brabazon House Nursing Home, Sandymount. 

Beloved husband of the late Noelle, loving and much-loved dad of Dónal and Ruairí. Charlie will be forever loved and deeply missed by his sons, daughters-in-law Denise and Orla, his adored grandchildren Darragh, Oscar, Aidan and Etain, brothers Connell and Eamonn, sister Lucy (McNiocaill), sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law especially Bebe and Mac, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Removal from Massey Bros Funeral Home, Templeogue Village, D6W AC82 takes place on Saturday morning to St Pius X Church, Templeogue arriving for 10am Requiem Mass. Cremation service will take place in the Victorian Chapel, Mt Jerome Crematorium, Harold's Cross at 12.15 pm.

Joseph Wilkie, Florida and Letterkenny

The death has taken place of Joseph Wilkie, West Palm Beach, Florida and formerly from Dromore, Letterkenny F92 NY9W.

Predeceased by his mother Grace in 2023, he is deeply missed by his loving father Louis, brother Andrew, sisters Ciara, Rebecca, Emma and husband Johndy Brogan, nephew Freddie and nieces Zoe and Lily, grandmother Ita Wilkie, partner Graciela and her family (Florida), aunts, uncles and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours Florida and Letterkenny.

Wake on Thursday from 12 noon until Rosary at 9pm. Family time after the Rosary please and on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from the family home on Friday at 10.15am going to St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed here. Interment will take place afterwards in the family plot in New Leck Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust c/o any family member.

Ann Hoey, Cliffoney, Sligo 

The death has occurred peacefully at home, of Ann Hoey (née Travers) 8 Brookfield, Cliffoney, Sligo 

Beloved wife of Seamus and adored mother to Karen (Gary), Stacey (Enda), James (Teresa), Shauna (Vincent), and Aaron (Liadan). Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by her loving husband, daughters, sons and her grandchildren Grace, Alanna, Ava, Kate, April, Jack, Ryan, Aoife, Fayna, Doireann, Saibh, Tara and Conor, her sisters Mary and Phena, her brother Des, and all her extended family, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her parents Mary Kate and Bilshie, her sister Marguerite and her brother Liam (Bundoran).

Her remains are reposing at Mc Gloin’s Funeral Home, Chapel Roa, Cliffoney on Thursday evening from 4pm until 8pm.

Funeral arriving to St Molaise’s Church, Cliffoney, on Friday morning for 11am Funeral Mass. Cremation will take place afterwards at 3pm in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan. Ann’s Funeral Mass can be viewed here.
