Death notices for Donegal on Thursday evening

The following deaths have occurred

- Seamus Curran, Ramelton and Stranorlar

- Vincent Gavigan, Ardara

- Maureen Reynolds, London and Rossnowlagh

- Sean McGuinness, Greencastle

- Margaret Gilchrist, Ballykerrigan and Dunfermline

Seamus Curran, Ramelton and Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Seamus (James) Curran,  2 Ard Gréine Court, Stranorlar and formerly of the Roughan Ramelton.

Predeceased by parents Maggie and James and his sister Mary Curran, he is sadly missed by his brothers Charlie, Liam, Peter, Denis, Kevin and Brendan, sisters Eileen Doherty, Bridie Bradley and Margaret Mc Bride, and residents and staff of Ard Gréine Court. 

His remains will repose at the family home, The Roughan, Ramelton, F92 Y3E0, from 6pm on Thursday.

Funeral mass on Saturday at 11am in St Mary’s Church Ramelton with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Vincent Gavigan, Ardara

The sudden death has occurred of Vincent (Vinney) Gavigan, Common Ardara,

Predeceased by his mother Mary Ellen, his father James and brother-in-law Peter Boyle, he is sadly missed by his loving partner Noeleen and his family Tracey (Denis), Johnny (Eleanor), Melissa, his beloved grandchildren Patrick, Finn, Oisin, Billy and Aoife, his sisters Annie Boyle (Tullycleave), Mary Mc Hugh (Ard Connell), Bernie Hamourini(England), his brother John (Garrahill), his brothers-in-law John Mc Hugh and Johnny Hamourini, his sister-in-law Mary Gavigan, his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

His remains are reposing at McCabe's Funeral Premises on Thursday from 6pm until 11pm and again on Friday from 11am until removal. Wake is private to family only, please.

The funeral will leave the funeral home at 2.40pm going to the Church of The Holy Family, Ardara, for 3pm Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Vinney's Funeral Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam. 

Kathleen Murphy, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Kathleen Murphy, née Griffin, Drumnahoe, Letterkenny F92 D6EP.

Deeply missed by her loving husband Thomas and family Thomas, Mark, Caroline and husband Paul McCabe, John and wife Tracy, Lorraine and husband Paddy Coll, grandchildren Sloan, Aneas, Maolíosa, Caoilfhinn, Bernadine and Ben, great-grandchildren Lochlan and Jack, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Kathleen is predeceased by her brother John and her sister, Una Coyle.

Kathleen’s remains will repose at her late residence on Thursday until 10pm with Rosary at 9pm. House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there on Friday at 10.15am going to St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass followed by private cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Funeral can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny

Rosemary Sheridan, Rathmullan

The peaceful death has taken place in Glasgow of Rosemary Sheridan, formerly of Creevary, Rathmullan.

Deeply regretted by her sister Kathleen Hazlett, sister-in-law Kathleen Sheridan, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and very many friends.

Her remains are reposing at her home in Creevary, Rathmullan from 3pm to 10pm on Saturday. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there on Sunday at 12 noon for 12.30pm Requiem Mass in St Joseph's Church, Rathmullan followed by interment in the adjacent cemetery. The Mass can be viewed on mcnmedia.tv/Camera/st-joesphs-church-rathmullan

Maureen Reynolds, London and Rossnowlagh 

The death has occurred peacefully of Maureen Reynolds, Leytonstone London, and formerly of Cashel Rossnowlagh.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at the Franciscan Friary Rossnowlagh at 2pm.

Sean McGuinness, Greencastle
 
The death has taken place, at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Sean M Guinness.

Private family cremation is to take place followed with a service of thanksgiving for Sean's life on Friday, June 2  at 12 noon in St. Pius X Church, Moville.

Margaret Gilchrist, Ballykerrigan and Dunfermline 

The death has occurred of Margaret Gilchrist (née Kelly) formerly Ballykerrigan, aged 83 years with her husband and children by her side.

Sadly missed by her husband Jim and children Connie, Gary, Gilly, Paul, Carmel and Colleen, her twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass is at St Margaret’s Church, Dunfermline, Scotland on Tuesday, May 30 at 10am. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live on the St Margaret’s RC Church website at https://www.mcnmedia.tv/camera/st-margarets-rc-church
