Elaine Goudie, Raphoe

The death has occurred of Elaine Goudie (née Gillespie), Carrickadawson, Raphoe, Donegal, F93 XVA4.

The death has taken place at Sligo University Hospital of Elaine Goudie née Gillispie, Carrickadawson, Raphoe F93XVA4. Beloved wife of Leslie. Predeceased by her father Willie John and brother David. Cherished daughter of Gretta. Dearly loved mother of Lesley Ann, Louise, Rachel and Jonathan, sons-in-law Stuart and Darren. Loving nanna of Sophie and Jamie. Elaine will be remembered with love by her sister Beatrice, brother Kenneth, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, neighbours and many friends.

Her remains will repose at her home on Friday, April 21 from 2pm. Funeral leaving from there on Sunday, April 23 at 2.15pm for 3pm funeral service in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Raphoe, followed by burial afterwards in the family plot in the adjoining graveyard. Family time please on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to St Eunan’s Cathedral Church Funds care of any family member or Terence McClintock funeral director, Convoy.

Eímear Jane Hegarty, Buncrana

The death has taken place of Eímear Jane Hegarty, The Swallows, Pillar Park, Buncrana.

Eímear’s remains are reposing at her late residence.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning, April 22at 10.15am travelling to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for 11am Requiem Mass with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Donations, if desired to Donegal Hospice c/o Porter Funeral Directors.

House Private from 11pm to 11am.

Johnny Patton, Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Johnny Patton, Glebe Hollow, Stranorlar.

He passed away peacefully at St Joseph’s Community Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Bridie and much-loved father of Paul (Liz), Gráinne (John), Mark (Shirley) and Stephen (Fiona).

Cherished grandfather of Lisa, Shauna, Aoife, Eimear, Conor, Kerrie, James, Dearbhla, Sinead and Sean.

Predeceased by his brothers and sisters.

Deeply regretted and very sadly missed by his sons, daughter, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and very many friends.

Reposing at the home of his son Mark Patton, Mullanachose, Ballybofey, F93 H6FD from 2pm on Friday, April 21.

Funeral leaving from there on Sunday, April 23 at 10.15am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.

Interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery. Rosary each night at 9pm.

Hughie Sweeney, Drumkeen

The death has taken place on Friday, April 21 at his home after a short illness of Hughie Sweeney, The Farrigans, Drumkeen.

Hughie’s remains will repose at his late residence on Friday, April 21 from 4pm until 10pm and from 12 noon until 10pm on Saturday, 22nd of April, with Rosary both evenings at 9pm.

Funeral arrangements to be confirmed later.

Patsy Quinn, Lifford

The death has occurred of Patsy Quinn, Cavan Hill, Lifford, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Anna.

Predeceased by his grandson baby Liam Bolger and granddaughter Sinéad Moodliar, brothers Willie, Josie, Tommy and Phonsie also sisters Tess, Annie, May, Peggie and Lena.

Sadly missed by his son Thomas, daughters Noeleen, Mary and AnnMarie, daughter-in-law Imelda, sons-in-law Bob and Paddy, also his grandchildren Patricia, Noah, Nathaniel, Rebecca, Patrick, Andrew, Séan, Aidan and Anna, also great grand grandchildren Kian and Ailbe.

Deeply regretted by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, wider family circle, neighbours and friends.

His remains will repose at his home on Friday, April 21 from 1pm until 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Saturday at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Murlog, Lifford, followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Rachael Connolly, Buncrana

The death has occurred of Rachael Connolly, 1 Ballymagan, Buncrana.
Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by her mother and father, her brothers and sisters especially her sister Sophia, her extended family, relatives and friends.
Reposing at her home on Friday, April 21 from 1pm to 8pm and on Saturday from 1pm to 8pm.
The wake is strictly private to family and close friends only and is strictly private on the morning of the funeral.

Removal on Sunday, April 23 at 10.15am to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11.00am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Pauline Brindley, Donegal and Roscommon

The death has occurred of Pauline Brindley, Donegal and Roscommon.

Prayers and interment service will take place on April 22 at 12 noon in the Cranny Road Cemetery, Frosses.

John Gallagher, Gortahork

The death has occurred of John Gallagher (John Jack Bán), late of Baltony, Gortahork on April 13 in Mount Anthony, Rathmines, Dublin 6. 

Survived by his sons John and Seamus, daughters Bríd and Niamh, sisters Madge and Margaret, brothers Seamus and Josie.

Reposing at Corrigan & Sons, Funeral Directors 5 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2 (Eircode D02 DF22) on Friday, April 21 from 5-7pm. Reposing at Gallagher Funeral Directors, Gortahork, Saturday, April 22 from 4pm to 8 pm.

Requiem Mass will take place in Christ the King Church, Gortahork, on Sunday, April 23 at 11am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Kathleen Gallagher, Westmeath and Killybegs

The death has occurred of Kathleen Gallagher (née Ward), Ballagh, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Roughra, Killybegs.

She passed away on April 19 peacefully at home in the loving care of her devoted husband and family.

Kathleen will be very sadly missed by her loving husband Fionn, sons Seán, Patrick, Paul, Eunan and Niall, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, sisters Susanna (McShane), Brigid (Mangan) and Phyllis (Melly), brother Frank, nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours and many friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who cared for Kathleen during her illness.

Reposing at her home at Ballagh (N91 R7N8) on Friday, April 21 from 3pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 11am in the Cathedral of Christ the King Mullingar followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery. The Mass may be viewed on the live webcam at www.mullingarparish.ie.

Mary McGinley, Carrigart

The peaceful death has occurred of Mary McGinley (née Boyce), Aughalatty, Carrigart, F92 CX34 at the Donegal Hospice on Tuesday, April 18.

Deeply missed by her loving husband Dominic, daughters Sheila, Annemarie, Eileen, Grainne and son Noel, sister Anne McGee and family in Dunfanaghy, sons in laws, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Mary’s remains are reposing at her late residence. Rosary both nights at 9pm. Funeral from there on Friday, April 21, going to the Church of St John the Baptist, Carrigart F92 C3W5 for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Marguerite (Babs) Lynch, Dublin, Meath, Clare and Donegal

The death has taken place peacefully at St Ursula’s Nursing Home, Bettystown, County Meath, of Marguerite (Babs) Lynch, née Coppins, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 and formerly of Laytown, County Meath and Ennis, County Clare, and Donegal.

Predeceased by her husband Owen, she is sadly missed by Sheila and the Lynch family, her nephew Des and the Coppins family, nieces Bernedette (Walsh) and Maria (Wells) and their families, her extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Mass on Friday morning at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Laytown (A92 PF20) Burial afterwards in Deansgrange Cemetery, Blackrock, Dublin at 1.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations, in lieu, to https://www.svp.ie.

Nora Murphy, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Nora Murphy, 15 O’Maolchonaire Avenue, Donegal, peacefully in Sligo Hospice.

Nora’s remains will repose at Gallagher’s Funeral Home, Mountcharles on Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm and Thursday from 3pm to 5pm with removal to St Mary’s Church, Killymard arriving for 5.30pm.

Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Killymard, with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations, if so desired, to The Rock Nursing Home, Ballyshannon, care of any family member or Faulkner Funeral Directors.

Sr Mary McHugh OSU, Sligo and Carrigart 

The death has occurred peacefully at Sligo University Hospital of Sr Mary McHugh OSU, Temple Street, Sligo and formerly of Carrigart.

She will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her Ursuline Community, the Ursulines of Ireland Wales and Kenya, her sisters and brothers, Sr Sarah OSU, Michael, Gráinne (Edwards), Catherine (Gunn), Martin, Mairead (Callaghan) and Joseph, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Nazareth Chapel, Church Hill, Sligo (F91A243) on Wednesday from 5pm, concluding with Evening Prayer at 6.15pm.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday at 12 noon in the Nazareth Chapel, Church Hill, Sligo. Burial will take place afterwards in the Ursuline Convent Cemetery, Finisklin, Sligo.
