John Patrick Friel, 61 Admiran Park, Stranorlar and formerly Fanad and London

The death has occurred of John Patrick Friel, 61 Admiran Park, Stranorlar and formerly Gortnatra, Fanad and London. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Deeply regretted by his wife Susan, sons Terence and his partner Trish (Burtonport), John and his partner Karen (Surrey) and daughter Caroline (Stranorlar).

Sadly missed by nephews Patrick (Cashel, Fanad), Brendan (Dungloe), nieces Marie (Dublin), Sinead Giles (Letterkenny), Eimear (Cashel, Fanad), sisters-in-law Kathleen Patterson and her husband Stephen (Letterkenny), Anne Roff and her husband Chris (London) and Sally Friel (Cashel, Fanad), brothers-in-law George Shiels and his wife Maria (Letterkenny) and John Patrick Shiels (Letterkenny). Fondly remembered by his extended family, neighbours and many friends.

John Patrick’s remains will repose at his late residence, Stranorlar from 2pm this afternoon, Friday March 3.

Removal from there at 11.30am on Sunday, March 5 arriving at St. Mary’s Church, Fanavolty, Fanad, for 1pm Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Rosary at 9pm both nights. House private from 10pm to 11am.

The sudden death has taken place at his residence of Paul O’Donnell, Kellyvery, Newtowncunningham, F93 P6CR.

Predeceased by his parents Danny and Kathleen O’Donnell and brother-in-law Shaun.

Sadly missed by brother Michael, wife Bernadette and nephew Martin, sisters Isobel (Castleforward), Bernadette (Killyverry), and brother Charlie (Killyverry). Fondly remembered by extended family, neighbours and friends.

Paul’s remains will repose at his late residence from 3pm this afternoon, Friday, March 3.

Funeral Mass in All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham, at 11am on Sunday, March 5, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live here.

John Brendan (Johnny) Mc Clintock, Moneygreggan, Newtowncunningham

The death has occurred of John Brendan (Johnny) Mc Clintock, Moneygreggan, Newtowncunningham, F93 X2X7.

He passed away peacefully at his late residence surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his loving wife Anna, daughters Deborah, Andrea, Sabrina and son Jonathan. Deeply regretted by brother Jim, grandchildren, extended family members, neighbours and many friends.

Johnny’s remains are reposing at his late residence. Funeral from there Saturday, March 4 at 10.15am, for Requiem Mass at 11am in All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has taken place of Ritchie Doherty, Leenan, Urris, Clonmany and Falkirk, Scotland.
 
Dear son of Mary and the late Patrick. Partner of Louise McAleese. Loving brother of Ellie, Sarah Anne, Mary, Daniel, William, and Francis. His many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
 
His remains are arriving at Bridgend border on Saturday, March 4 at approximately 1.30pm, going to his late home. At 5.30pm, his remains will then be taken to St Michael’s Church, Urris, Clonmany to repose overnight.
Funeral Mass on Sunday, March 5 at 10am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Kieran McGrath, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Kieran McGrath, 122 Ard O'Donnell, Letterkenny, Donegal, F92 KT2R. 

Predeceased by his parents Liam and Breege, he is deeply missed by his loving sisters Yvonne O’Connor and husband Hugh (Claudy, County Derry), Deirdre Crossan and husband Martin (Glenwood Park, Letterkenny), Bridgeen McGrath and partner Hughie Devenney (Glenwood Park, Letterkenny) and brother Liam and wife Catherine (Meadow Hill, Letterkenny), nieces, nephews, uncles and aunties and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

His remains are reposing at his late residence on Friday from 11am to 10pm and from 11am to 10pm on Saturday. Rosary both evenings at 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Liam Gutcha Haughey, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Liam Gutcha Haughey, 13 Mount Pleasant, Mountain Top, Letterkenny and formerly from Listillion.

Predeceased by his infant sons Dean and Jason and parents Peter and Katie, he is deeply missed by his loving son Lee and daughter Bronaígh, grandson Brooks, sisters Sr Veronica, Nellie, Noeleen and Cass, brothers Robert, Hughie, Packie, Peter, Jimmy, Jonnie, Paul and Kevin, aunts, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Remains reposing at his late residence. Family time from 10pm until 12 noon and on the morning of the funeral please. Rosary at 9pm.

Mary Anne Mc Ateer, Fanad

The death has occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, of Mary Anne Mc Ateer (née Shiels), Rockdale, Doaghbeg, Fanad.

Predeceased by her husband Art, she is deeply regretted by her daughter Dympna, sisters Kathleen O’Donnell (Letterkenny), Bridget Gibbons (Aughadreena) and Nora Shiels (Shannon) and sadly missed by all her nephews and nieces, her extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Mary Anne’s remains are reposing at her late residence. Rosary at 8pm. House private from 10pm to 9.30am.

Removal from there at 10.30am on Saturday, travelling via Portsalon, arriving at St Columba’s Church, Massmount, for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Johnny McClintock, Newtowncunningham

The death has occurred peacefully, at his late residence, surrounded by his loving family, of John Brendan (Johnny) Mc Clintock, Moneygreggan, Newtowncunningham, F93 X2X7.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Anna, daughters Deborah, Andrea, Sabrina and son Jonathan, deeply regretted by brother Jim, grandchildren, extended family members, neighbours and many friends.

Johnny's remains are reposing at his late residence from Thursday at 4pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Peggy McMenamin, Dunkineely

The death has occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Aras Mhic Shuibhne Nursing Home in her 102nd year, of Margaret (Peggy) McMenamin (née Fisher), Castleview, Dunkineely.

Predeceased by her husband Seamus, daughter Margaret, brothers Francie, Packie and Charlie, sisters, Rose and Bridget, her sister-in-law Norah, sadly missed by her daughters Marian and Bernadette, sons Patrick (Ann) and Gerard, brother-in-law Peter, her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family friends and neighbours of Castleview.

Her remains are reposing at Shovlin's Funeral Home, Ardara on Friday from 3pm to 5.30pm, followed by removal to the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal, Bruckless to arrive at 7pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed on here.

Tina Sisson, Letterkenny and Florida

The peaceful death has occurred at her home on February 20 of Tina Sisson (née Bianconi), Pensacola, Florida USA and formerly the Dolphin Café, Main Street, Letterkenny.

Predeceased by her parents Gabriella and Matteo Bianconi, husband David Sisson, sister Ingrid and brother Nino. She will be sadly missed by her loving children Donna Kilcawley, Jacqueline Kilcawley and Mark Kilcawley, son-in-law Tonino, grandchildren Brian, Sean, Liam, Taylor, Shana and Josh and great-grandson Flavio.

Interment of ashes will take place in the family plot in New Leck Cemetery in spring or early summer.

Seamus Behan, Lifford

The death has occurred of Seamus Behan, "Aisling," Butcher Street, Lifford. 

Beloved son of the late James and Sarah Behan and much loved brother of the late Fr Hugh Behan.

His remains are reposing at St Patrick's Church, Murlog, Lifford. Requiem Mass on Friday at 10am with interment afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Melmount.

Mai Mooney, Carndonagh

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of retired national school teacher of Bocan and Culdaff, Mai Mooney, née Coyle, Moville Road, Carndonagh.

Beloved wife of the late Benny, and much loved mother of Anna, Paschal, Judy, Maire and the late Seamus, Joe-T and Dymphna. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, adored grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her home. 

Funeral from there on Saturday morning at 10.30am going to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh for Requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

May Griffin, Stranorlar

The death has occurred peacefully at St Joseph’s Community Hospital, Stranorlar, surrounded by her loving family, of Mary (May) Griffin (née Devenney), Drumboe Cottages, Stranorlar, F93 YFF2.

Beloved wife of the late Gerry and much loved mother of Larry, Christina, Kenny, Mary (McGinty) Seamus, Ann,(Laverty) Gerard, Tony, Sharon, (Ward) and the late Noel and Martin, cherished sister of the late Jimmy and Patrick. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her home. Family time from 10pm until 11am each day, and on the morning of the funeral please.

Bernard Harkin, Clonmany

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Bernard Harkin, Gaddyduff, Clonmany.

He will be missed by his wife Mary his loving children Lenore, Daniel, Lisa, BJ, Gareth, Philip, Grace, Emmet, his cherished grandchildren brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and the wider family circle.

His remains are reposing at his residence. Family time from 10pm to 11am.

Simon Nolan, London and Donegal Town

The death has occurred peacefully at his home in Shirley, Croydon, of Simon Nolan, formerly of Ballydevitt, Donegal Town.

Predeceased by his parents, Ann and Matthew, he is dearly loved and sadly missed by his wife, Philomena (née McGinty, Townawilly), children, Isabella, Caoimhe, Matthew and Noelle.

Funeral arrangements are to be announced at a later date.

Feargus Ó Raghallaigh, Dunfanaghy and Dublin

The death has occurred of Feargus Ó Raghallaigh, Dunfanaghy, Donegal / Dublin.
Died suddenly February 14 at his home in Waikanae, New Zealand, aged 74.

He will be forever loved and sadly missed by Miriam and their daughters Holly and Kate, his siblings Rónán, Éirnín, Dairine, Ultan, Feilim, Tomás and Siún, extended family and his many friends both in Ireland and New Zealand. Predeceased by his partner Trish and his parents Caitlín and Séamus.

The funeral service will take place in Waikanae on March 7, 11am (New Zealand local time). 

A memorial service will take place on Sunday, March 12, 3pm, Dublin Unitarian Church, St Stephen’s Green.
