A Donegal woman has appeared in court after being charged with several thefts from a pharmacy.

Charlene Devenney was brought before Letterkenny District Court.

Devenney, a 46-year-old of Hillhead, Castlefin, was charged with five separate thefts.

She was charged with stealing property to a total value of €734 from Murrays Pharmacy, Main Street, Convoy across five dates in July and August, 2024.

Detective Garda Cathal Feely gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Devenney.

The accused made no reply to the charge, the court heard. There were no Garda objections to bail.

Devenney was represented by solicitor Mr Rory O’Brien.

Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has directed summary disposal only on a plea of guilty being entered.

Judge Emile Daly ordered that disclosure be given by June 8 and the case was adjourned to July 20 for the accused to either plead guilty or be sent for trial to the Circuit Court.

“If a plea is entered, I will accept jurisdiction,” Judge Daly said.
