The owners of Sandwich Co. in Buncrana are celebrating after officially taking over the Sandwich Co. franchise in Letterkenny.
After five successful years building up a loyal customer base in Buncrana, the Sandwich Company says the expansion into Letterkenny marks an exciting new chapter for the café.
Announcing the move this week on their social media channels, Sandwich Co. in Buncrana said they were “absolutely delighted” to officially take over the Letterkenny shop and thanked customers for the support that helped the Buncrana branch grow.
“What started as a small idea has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of, and it’s all thanks to your continued support,” they said.
The Buncrana branch has become a popular stop for sandwiches, coffee, and lunches since opening five years ago, with customers regularly travelling from across Inishowen.
Now, the owners say they are looking forward to bringing the same atmosphere and quality service to customers in Letterkenny.
“If you’re in the area, call in and say hello; we’d love to see some familiar faces and meet plenty of new ones,” they added.

The move also marks a significant moment in the history of the Letterkenny café, which has been operating since July 27, 2007.
After 19 successful years under previous ownership, the Sandwich Co. Letterkenny confirmed that the café has officially moved into new hands, with Kevin McCole from the Buncrana branch taking over the reins.
The company said customers can expect continuity despite the change, including the same staff, familiar faces, and the same freshly prepared food and coffee.
“From our beginnings in Derry in 1991 to cafés across the Northwest, our goal has always been simple: great food, made fresh, served with care. That won’t change,” a spokesperson for the Sandwich Company said.
The McCole’s completed their first day in charge on Tuesday, May 5th, and thanked customers for the warm welcome and messages of support they received.
“A huge thank you for all the well wishes. We are really looking forward to getting to know the Letterkenny customers more and continuing to serve and grow our regulars.”
