Condy Doherty was given the No 81 bib on his 81st birthday, as part of the field of 1,107 for the annual event in Letterkenny

Buncrana native Condy Doherty wore the No 81 bib for good reason at the North West 10K on Bank Holiday Monday.

That's because it was Condy's 81st birthday, so he took to the line in Letterkenny for the 11am start, as part of the field of 1,107 for the annual event.placeholder image

Condy, who was registered in the 70+ category, completed the circuit in a time of one hour 12 minutes and 14 seconds.

The three charities benefitting this year are the Kilmacrennan, Termon, Gartan, Churchill and Trentagh Community First Responders, Letterkenny Community Childcare Centre and the Cara House Family Resource Centre.
