Irish music star postpones gig after getting 'opportunity of a lifetime'

Irish folk singer Dan McCabe has informed fans that he is postponing his Castlebar gig this weekend after receiving the "opportunity of a lifetime."

The Kildare man took to social media to share the news. He said: "I regret to inform you that, Saturday night's concert in the Royal Theatre Castlebar will be postponed and rescheduled.

"I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to perform at the Katie Taylor fight this Saturday night which will be streamed worldwide," he explained. 

Dan said the rescheduled concert will now take place on New Year’s Eve in the Royal Theatre Castlebar.

"We are already in the process of planning a bigger and better event. I’m really looking forward to ringing in the New Year with the people who have made all this possible, you the fans," he said.

"I will be joined by special guests on the night followed by a DJ. It really will be a night to remember. I’m looking forward to kicking off my Genesis Tour 2024 in style with all you guys, it’s gonna be one hell of a party!

"I am very sorry to let you all down last minute, but I hope you will understand and support me."

All tickets purchased will be valid for the new New Years Eve date or refunds are available from point of purchase.
