When it came to the matter of the bill, fans of the dating show did not like the interaction

Social media fury has resulted from the latest episode of First Dates Ireland.

Fans of the popular dating show have took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter to share their discomfort over the date between Richard (28) from Cork and Caoimhe (27) from Galway.

The pair got on well and the date was going well with topics such as kids coming up over the dinner table.

When it came to the matter of the bill, Caoimhe insisted on paying and fans seem to be getting heated over the fact Richard didn't protest at all, he said "Would you like to?," and paid.

When asked if they wanted to see each other again, Caoimhe said yes and Richard said no, with reason being "we are at different stages."

Later Caoimhe said: "My ethos is if you're splitting the bill that means you don't want to see each other again. So if he didn't want to see me again maybe he should have suggested to split it."

One user on X said: "He let the woman pay in full and rejected her when she was full on for a second date. D***h**d."

Another user said: "He could’ve put up a bit of a fight for the bill if he’d no interest in seeing her again."
