RIP: Woman in her 60s dies after collision with lorry in Mayo
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Rathbawn Road in Castlebar, Co Mayo, on Thursday, April 24.
The incident, which involved a pedestrian and a lorry, occurred at approximately 9:55am.
The pedestrian, a woman aged her 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the lorry has been taken to hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators which has now been completed and the road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 9:30am and 10:00am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
