EXCITEMENT has reached fever pitch as a family-run service station recently transformed one lucky customer into a Lotto millionaire.

The winning ticket, which carried the life-changing Lotto Plus 1 top prize of a whopping €1 million, was sold at Maxol Killeens, in Wexford Town, a business that has been an integral part of the local community for over three decades.

As news of the big win spread like wildfire, the store's operators, Tony and Sarah Butler, couldn't be more delighted.

"It’s just brilliant for absolutely everybody in the community. It’s especially sweet for us as the business has been a part of our family for over 30 years, and to get a big lottery win for one of our customers is just the icing on the cake. We believe that the winner has already been in touch so whoever they are, I know that the entire local community will be wishing them every success with their newfound fortune," the Butlers exclaimed.

The National Lottery, which confirmed the lucky ticket holder's contact, revealed that the prize will soon be claimed, making this individual the 33rd National Lottery millionaire of 2023. This remarkable turn of fate is not just a win for the ticket holder but also for the close-knit community, which is beaming with pride and optimism.

As the dust settles on this remarkable win, all eyes are now on the €65 million (estimated) EuroMillions draw scheduled for tonight.

A National Lottery spokesperson added, "If a player in Ireland was to win the staggering jackpot tonight, they would take the title of 18th Irish EuroMillions jackpot winner ever seen in Ireland."
