Man in his 30s dies in motorbike collision

A motorcyclist in his 30s has been killed in a road traffic collision in Co Cork.

The incident, which involved a jeep and a motorbike, occurred at about 8pm on Saturday evening on the N20 at Castlewrixon, Ballyhea.

The driver of the bike was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the jeep – a man in his 80s – was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

The road was closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage are urged to contact Gardaí.
