Firefighters rush to famous Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin

Firefighters have rushed to a fire at a famous hotel in Dublin city centre.

Staff and guests were evacuated from the historic Shelbourne Hotel during the incident on Wednesday morning.

Gardai and multiple units from the Dublin Fire Brigade responded to the scene.

An ambulance also arrived outside the building.

The firefighters used an aerial ladder from one truck to access the roof of the six-storey building.

Gardai said the fire was reported shortly before 11am.

A spokesman said no injuries had been reported.

The luxury five-star hotel is located on St Stephen’s Green near Leinster House and several Government departments.
