There has been 603 of the affected products sold to Irish customers.

Temu has issued an urgent recall of their LED spinning top toy due to safety concerns.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) said the online retail giant has reported to them that the issue with the product is 'chemical.'

The toy is powered by button batteries and according to the CCPC the battery compartment can be easily opened which means the batteries are accessible. The CCPC warns: "A child may put them in the mouth and swallow them, which could cause damage to the child’s gastrointestinal tract."

There has been approximately 603 of the affected products sold in the Republic of Ireland. People who may have purchased the toy are being urged to stop using it immediately and to keep it out of reach from children.

Temu said they have contacted customers impacted by the recall and will issue reimbursements.

For anyone who believes they may have purchased the product, its GoodsID is 8601099545120913 and the product identification number is 5411677678.
