Wind warnings have been issued for Saturday night through to Sunday by Met Éireann as further train delays are confirmed due to Storm Kathleen

New wind warnings have been issued by Met Éireann due to Storm Kathleen.

The national weather forecaster confirmed that new wind warnings have been issued for Saturday night into tomorrow morning for some regions

A Status Yellow - Gale warning for all coasts of Ireland and on the Irish Sea is in place until Sunday.

A Status Orange - Wind warning for Galway and Mayo remains in place until 6pm on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow - Wind warning will be in place for Donegal, Mayo and West Galway until 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

Met Éireann has urged people to keep up to date on warnings and consult with the forecaster's website - met.ie

The gale winds have caused significant delays to train services across the country, as fallen trees block lines.

A number of sporting fixtures have fallen casualty to the weather, including this evening's League of Ireland fixture between Sligo Rovers and Galway Utd due to health and safety reasons.
